Flower Gardening and Other Fun Stuff

It's now Srping and I haven't got that Garden Shed out of the planning stages yet and I've changed my mind a couple of times as well, so it's not a sure thing whether the shed will come to be or not.  At least for this year.

Planning a greenhouse/garden shed is a lot harder than I thought it would be.  My big issue with it is size... how big is too big to move it, should I need to do that in the not too distant future.  The style will be a big consideration right now too.  Should I have a combination building, or do two separate buildings instead.  Dear me... decisions, decisions!! I need storage.  I want a greenhouse.  You'd think I could make up my mind, but alas, life is complicated and it's hard to guess the needs of both for the future.

Anyway, it's almost too late for the greenhouse for this year, so maybe I'll just concentrate on the storage shed for right now.

On a different note, I've been looking around to see if there are any really cool things to offer you, so have a look around to discover some fabulous varieties to buy that you can't get locally... trust me, there are tons of them here.  If nothing else, I love searching All the garden merchants online for their newest and most beautiful offerings!!

Purple Prince Lily Tree

(New at Brecks - $25 Off $50) <- little blurb

I was shopping around my favourite garden sites, of which Brecks is one, and I came across this gorgeous lily.  There is no doubt about it, it's going in my garden.  I just placed the order and I don't care how much it costs.  I've been thinking about doing a Purple, Pink, Yellow themed garden, so this is the first addition.  This colour theme garden is going beside my shed when it gets built.  What I envision is going to be spectacular.

Most of the gardening merchants I shop at and feature here on my site have % off  built right into the link.  I embed the code so that when you click on the picture or link, the discount is automatically calculated no matter what you buy from that site.  I learned a long time ago, that there's no sense buying online unless #1 - I can't get it around my home and #2 - I  can get it for less online.

If I can get you a really sweet deal on whatever you need for your garden, then My job is done!!   Happy hunting.

Bulbs

Now is the time to be planning your bulb garden for next year, keeping in mind that most bulbs are perennials and will flower year after year, which means you're getting good value for the dollars you spend.  For a well rounded bulb garden (spring, summer & fall) and additional value, be sure to check out bulb collections (of which the tulip collections are the most popular).

Woodpecker Feeder

Woodpeckers' instinctive feeding habits draw them to the unique design of this feeder. Two sturdy plastic panels display seeds, while several small feeding holes on each corner provide unique access that only woodpeckers will readily recognize.
Woodpeckers are among the most voracious insect-eating birds, so they're great to have around. Wood boring ants, beetles, caterpillars, larvae and eggs make up most of the woody's diet. But when insects are scarce, pecking at this feeder is like digging in tree bark!
